- License verification is hardened so it is harder to bypass in a patched binary: the built-in trust-anchor keys are cross-checked at runtime and a run's admission is verified twice, independently. With a valid license nothing changes; it stays offline, with no network call.
Updating
Your installation tells you about a new release itself: admins see its notes and the update command for that installation at the top of the UI. The command backs up the database first and keeps the settings (Updating). You can also follow new releases with the RSS feed.
