Spitfire 1.1.0 release notes
Released: 2026-11-04latest
- Spitfire's own APM: a new APM menu with Services (RED, p95/p99), Traces with the waterfall, the Why did it break? root-cause panel, Topology and Hosts. The data stays in ClickHouse in your installation; retention by license 1/3/7/15/30 days, 1 GB a day on the free edition.
- Errors area: every exception, HTTP 5xx, ERROR span and ERROR log grouped by fingerprint. Search as you type, filters with counts (service, environment, version, host, endpoint, type, attribute), open/resolved/ignored status. From an error to its span and from a span to its error in one click; the span panel shows host, version, DB statement, stacktrace and grouped attributes.
- Hosts and apps: each host's page lists the apps running on it with RED and errors; the services list and the service page show which hosts a service runs on, broken down per host.
- APM charts: request and p95 trends on services, trace duration over time on Traces (a point opens its trace) and a duration histogram (a bar sets the duration filter), errors over time by type on Errors (following the filters), occurrences on the error page, CPU and memory lines on hosts, a time ruler on the waterfall.
- One-click APM module: when APM is off, the installation admin installs it from the APM page (consent, retention days, progress). New installs have ClickHouse on by default (--without-apm turns it off); apm.enabled in Helm.
- Add a service wizard: pick the language, framework, version and environment for numbered, copyable steps with every value filled and a check that waits for the first span live. New guides for Ruby (Rails, Sinatra), React.js, React Native and Flutter; a separate browser and mobile key (sfrum_).
Updating
Your installation tells you about a new release itself: admins see its notes and the update command for that installation at the top of the UI. The command backs up the database first and keeps the settings (Updating). You can also follow new releases with the RSS feed.
